Critter Care

At Second Home Pet Resort, exotic pets, critters, and pocket pets will receive daily care tailored to each guest’s needs to ensure your pet’s health and comfort throughout their stay. We welcome small mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and many other exotics.

Common Guest Prices

  • Rabbits: $15 /day

  • Ferrets: $15 / day

  • Guinea Pigs: $10 / day

  • Birds: $8 / day

  • Reptiles: $12 / day

  • Pigs: $42 / day

+ ½ price for additional pets sharing the same space

  • There aren’t many pets that we aren’t willing to care for!

    Some of the pets we have cared for include:

    • guinea pigs,

  • This depends on the type of pet. Our small mammals (guinea pigs, rabbits, etc) and bird guests stay in our Critter Room just off the office. Our reptile guests may stay in our critter room or in our cattery depending on the enclosure and power sources they require. Larger exotics (pigs, goats, etc) stay in our kennel spaces where we would typically have like-sized dogs.

  • We have some enclosures and habitats available, including cages for rabbits and guinea pigs, ferret condos, and reptile terrariums. For other animals, like birds, we ask that you bring your own cage. Please reach out about your specific pet to inquire about the enclosures we have to accommodate them or if you should bring your own.

  • This is dependent on your pet and their specific care requirements. Please reach out regarding your specific pet to see what we have and what we require you to provide.

    Some common necessities we ask you to provide include:

    • food — fridge and freezer space available. Please include hay if your pet requires it.

    • treats and snacks — fridge and freezer space available

    • special food/water dishes — if your rabbit will only drink from a drip bottle, or your snake needs a separate feeding area, bring those along.

    • bedding — we will happily supply cage liners, litter liners or towels. If you/your pet prefers litter or a specific type of bedding, please bring it along.

    • Specific care equipment (ei: dust bathes, misters/spray bottles, supplements, potentially some lights)

    We can provide basic bowls, litter boxes, cage liners, heating and UV lights for reptiles staying in our terrariums, heating pads for reptiles staying in our terrariums.
