For the dogs:

    Please ensure that your pets vaccinations do not expire prior to their stay. We are unable to accept any animals without proper documentation - this is for the health and safety of all of our guests! It is the owners responsibility to provide up-to-date documents, pets arriving without cannot stay at the kennel.

    • Vaccination certificate from a vet showing current vaccination against Distemper/DHPP, Rabies, & Kennel Cough/Bordetella

    • Their own food. Feel free to bring a small bin of food, pre-portion their meals into baggies, or bring the whole bag. Too much is better than too little.

    • Beds and blankets are welcome. We cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged. Personal items are welcome but please don't bring a favourite, just in case. We will happily lend your pet a bed/blankets if you prefer.

    • Any toys, treats, or chews

    • Any required medications

    No need to bring bowls, we will provide them!

  • No, we do not force socialization. Not all dogs like other dogs in their space, and we respect that. If your dog prefers their owns pace, they will get their own yard with the same amount of outside time as the social dogs.

  • Yes, of course! If your dog is anxious, we will take the necessary time to help them acclimate to the environment and build their confidence.

  • Yes, no problem!

  • Yes, they can stay together, but for best safety practices, we will keep them together outside in their own yard.

  • No, our large kennels are in a separate area of the building that is reserved for large dogs. You can, however, book a medium kennel for your small dog.

  • We will match your dog with friends based on their size, age, and temperament. So if your dog is quiet and we will match them with similar friends.

  • No, unfortunately. We do, however, try and post photos and videos on our social media as much as possible to allow you to see your pet play.

  • We don’t send updates; however, you are welcome to call, email, or message us on social media to check in on them. We also post updates on social media as often as possible!

  • While we don’t have anyone stay in the building at night, our family lives on site so we are able to check in on them as needed.

For the cats:

  • We used to have a more traditional cattery with cat condos and found that the cat guests took a while to settle in. We would let the cats out to roam in turns and found that they would immediately relax when out wandering. With this in mind, we decided to try cage-free in 2013 and have never looked back! We find that the cats settle in so much faster as they are able to run, climb, burn energy, and find their favourite spot while being entertained by the people in the office and the birds outside.

  • Our cattery is actually two rooms, so if we have a personality conflict we can separate the cats based on their personalities. It is rare, but if we find that one cat really isn’t liking the other cats, we have cat condos that we can bring in to give them their own space.

  • We don’t send updates; however, you are welcome to call, email, or message us on social media to check in on them. We also post updates on social media as often as possible!

    • Food - we recommend that you bring your cat’s current diet. Please keep in mind that we cannot guarantee that your cat will not snack on other cats’ food.

    • You are welcome to bring beds and blankets for your kitty, but we keep the cattery fully stocked with beds so feel free to leave them at home.

  • No, we will supply the litter boxes, litter, and bowls.

  • No, we don’t currently have an outside space for our cat guests. The cats do have access to windows where they can sit in the window sills and watch the birds.

For the critters:

  • There aren’t many pets that we aren’t willing to care for!

    Some of the pets we have cared for include:

    • guinea pigs,

    • rabbits,

    • ferrets,

    • gerbils,

    • hamsters,

    • chinchillas,

    • sugar gliders,

    • tortoises,

    • snakes,

    • bearded dragons,

    • geckos,

    • iguanas,

    • pigs,

    • goats,

    • ducks.

  • This depends on the type of pet. Our small mammals (guinea pigs, rabbits, etc) and bird guests stay in our Critter Room just off the office. Our reptile guests may stay in our critter room or in our cattery depending on the enclosure and power sources they require. Larger exotics (pigs, goats, etc) stay in our kennel spaces where we would typically have like-sized dogs.

  • We have some enclosures and habitats available, including cages for rabbits and guinea pigs, ferret condos, and reptile terrariums. For other animals, like birds, we ask that you bring your own cage. Please reach out about your specific pet to inquire about the enclosures we have to accommodate them or if you should bring your own.

  • This is dependent on your pet and their specific care requirements. Please reach out regarding your specific pet to see what we have and what we require you to provide.

    Some common necessities we ask you to provide include:

    • food — fridge and freezer space available. Please include hay if your pet requires it.

    • treats and snacks — fridge and freezer space available

    • special food/water dishes — if your rabbit will only drink from a drip bottle, or your snake needs a separate feeding area, bring those along.

    • bedding — we will happily supply cage liners, litter liners or towels. If you/your pet prefers litter or a specific type of bedding, please bring it along.

    • Specific care equipment (ei: dust bathes, misters/spray bottles, supplements, potentially some lights)

    We can provide basic bowls, litter boxes, cage liners, heating and UV lights for reptiles staying in our terrariums, heating pads for reptiles staying in our terrariums.
